I just came back from a trip to Atlanta with a few girlfriends and made some wonderful finds. Number One, I wish there was an Urban Outfitters here. They had their 50% off Clearance Prices sale, and I made some terrific purchases--but most importantly, I found the book there that I've been wanting for some time now, The Big-Ass Book of Crafts by Mark Montano.
I freaking LOVE this book and its crafty ways. So friends and family, beware, you may find your gift was inspired from the pages of this book. Oh how I love it. I actually dreamed about it the other night. Craftnerd.Another excellent find in Atlanta was a wonderful art co-op called The Beehive bordering Midtown & Buckhead. There were tons of beautiful pieces throughout the store, but the section that stole my heart was that of Whipstitch. I bought some fantastic fabrics there and cannot wait to get into them. I'll post some photos of the fabrics later.
Alright, so this is an ambitious holiday list, but I've never been so excited to make things before. My lists have doubled, but so long as I have 30 hours in a day for the next several weeks, I'll be good. In the meantime, I promise to get back and post some of the declassified art that I've been working on. Oh, and you know how I wanted to do a weekend painting? Well, I'll take a photo of it to share with you because I managed to do a large canvas in 2 hours. HUGE accomplishment!!
More to come...........
Ashley.
